They do take maintenance, nails, heavy coat, teeth – please take care of their teeth.
They feel they are an equal part of the family. Be careful of the food you get, dry food (kibble has ingredients that will spark allergies) , making their food homemade is best.
As far as pets, no they don't make a good pet, but they do make an excellent companion. More loyal to you than any human
I love shibas, they are quiet and stubborn, they have a amazing personality. I had one for 13 years. Unfortunately he developed cancer and had to be put down😢. However he was strong and if it wasnt for the cancer I’m certain he could’ve given me. Good 6-7 more years. He was really strong for his age. Didn’t look like a old dog at all.

I have owned 2 a male and a female, absolutely fantastic pets. The male would be aggressive to large male dogs, small dogs were OK. He was aggressive to any wild animal and thought it was his job to kill them. They both were great around people and good with cats. I often realized that they actually had a sense of humor.
