I'm the wild, hamsters have territories that are almost 400 ft or 118 meters. They are extremely active and can run up to 5 miles in one night. They are meant to burrow and forrage. In this, they can't burrow (that requires at least 6 inches), they can't run, and chances are you aren't spreading their food around and giving then toys to chew and forage for. Bc of their large territories, they also normally have multiple different substrates to play with. Here, is like locking them in a closet without anything to do. No wonder they're suicidal
I have a fully grown syrian I am its third owner I tried to convince my parents to get a bigger cage but they refused his current cage is 50 cm long 36 cm wide and 47cm tall what can I add to his cage to make it super nice for him?
i own small hamster cages. my hamster is in a cage 100cm by 50cm. i used to own rats and people who own rats, mice and gerbils need these for bonding them. (search the carrier method). but they shouldn't be used for hosing even if you need to separated 2 animals unless they are fighting and the small cage is the only thing you have on hand. hamsters are solitary and should live alone. but i can understand if rats, mice or gerbils start to fight. same if you take in two hamsters who live together of someone just to separated them. these cages shouldn't be used as a starter cage or temporary cage when you first get any animal/s. you should have a big cage ready.
I have my hamster in a huge fish tank and he loves it he’s a teddy bear hamster and is Syrian hamsters the same as teddy bear hamsters? They look a like.
Hye Victoria question so my hammy us a robo dwarf and I put her in there when ever I do a full reset of ther cage no more than 20 mins , is that ok? She is in a tnk the size of a single bed –
I totally agree with this video but I don't think the hamster cages should be really big I think the massive ones are over the top and I know it's not just about so they can run around and exercise it's also about having enough room a after you put their stuff in but wheels were invented for them to burn energy and exercise so people that say they need a bigger cage for exercising that's not right.
I really want a hammy but I won’t get one bc I don’t think I could get the best cage for it I don’t want to make it have such a terrible life like some hamster owners do by giving them small cages I think people should remember your not just making a cage for your hamster your pretty much making their whole life so I’m just going to stick with my Guinea pigs and later I will adopt a hammy later when I can give it proper care. Btw I love your vids💕
i used to have a hamster. i was around 8, and my family didn’t really know what we were doing, but we knew we weren’t going to get her one of those tube-filled cages or the tiny ones. we ended up getting her this huge rat cage, and we built her little enclosures made out of wood. i still wanted her to be in open space though, so my dad also made her 4 small walls that i could put on my rug to play with her. i know she probably didn’t live the most amazing life, but i like to think 8 year old me and my dad tried our best.
As I own 23 hamsters this is not the solution hamsters are just small and get scared and feel lost in big enclosures so they will be fine with a small cage like this
I have a question, I have one 2 inch(long) dwarf hamster and currently have a cage about 2 feet long and a foot wide it is also three floors (two floors are smaller I provide lots of hide outs, water, bowls with fresh foods and a proper sized wheel do I need a different enclosure???
I used to use these for travel. But I now don't wanna even give them the money. So I made a smaller bin cage for emergency trips and stuff! These are so expensive and for what???

Hamsters like big cages to run around in, it atleast has to be the size of a rabbit cage.
I agree they shouldn’t make it. Why do they make small cages for if they know it’s not good I agree
This is a jail

Currently saving up for a 32"L x 16"W x 16"H cage I’m so exited
It’d work for a place to put the, while you tidy their decent cage though
